6 Showering Tips To Help You Sleep
When it comes to getting a good night sleep, you might be focusing too much on your bedroom atmosphere or keeping away from caffeine after 2pm (although we’re not denying that these are important) - but have you ever thought about your bathing habits, too? Baths are definitely a go-to when it comes to winding down at the end of the day, and they’re a great way to de-stress, but simply having a quick shower before bed can also work wonders!
As well as getting us clean and ready for bed, showering alters our body temperature, which plays such an important role in our sleep rhythm. This means they can help deepen our sleep and get us to the dreamland faster, hooray!

1. Make Sure It's HOT
Most people enjoy showers in the morning, claiming they help refresh us and get us ready for our day ahead, but if you’re struggling to fall asleep, a hot shower before bed could actually work wonders...
When you step out of a hot shower, your body temperature dramatically drops, mimicking the natural dip in core temperature that happens when we sleep. This feeling will trigger your body clock, and ease you into a deeper sleep... fast!
2. Meditation Time
If you struggle to set aside some time for meditation or mindfulness, try using your time in the shower as a way to wind down and switch off. Having a few moments where you slow your breathing, clear your mind and mentally prepare for bed will help enormously when it comes to drifting off. A lot of us end up getting into bed without any unwind-time, but to then expect our body to switch off is pretty unrealistic.
